They all start out so small and sweet. So cute, so huggable . Nothing prepares you for that time when you suddenly realize that you have become almost obsolete.

Keeping the home fires burning

Paul is off somewhere in Florida this week. I can't remember exactly what he's doing this time, but I know it's some sort of OJT so that he can take over this "job" when the current overseer retires next year.

He'll be "missing" Mac's birthday this year (it falls on Friday), but he's home on Sunday so we will just delay the family party until then.

Mac wants to head to the bowling alley with a few of his friends on Saturday to celebrate. He's turning 16 this year. I secretly ordered special M&M's to celebrate the landmark event. I hope he likes them.
